While it is not quite the end of April, it is the end of the trading month, and although the news was all about record breaking stock market rallies and new records, I'm just trying to make steady returns. In the previous month, I allocated my funds at 88% C Fund and 12% I Fund. I am pleased with the results and am impressed with the I Fund's performance, but I am still not a fan of it just yet. It has had a remarkable run this year, and for the risky investors, it might be the right place, but for me, I'm still weary of its very volatile movements. I think this month it is also worth mentioning the timing effect of my returns. Unfortunately for me, when I sold the S Fund on April 3rd, I took a 0.08% loss, which impacted my returns this month. In the long run, these market timing losses tend to be offset by market timing gains. So what does the future hold for Mr. Market? Well, I think the S&P500 will continue to be strong with the releasing of the President's tax plan, and I think the S Fund will benefit from it as well. However, with unrest in the French elections (mostly passed) and the North Korean crisis now center stage, I think the international markets may start to level off somewhat. I am seeing a good year and hope you are too! Keep investing!
